Fishing For ATARI Mac OS

Basically if you want to use a Mac to write the disks you need a pre Mac OS X Mac, I'd anything from a 68030 with Mac OS 7 to a Power PC with OS 8/9. My personal favourites are the Mac 8600/9600, which are massive heavy beasts, but has all the connections to cross the bridge between an old Mac and a new one. Hardware Requirements. Gemulator supports a combination of plug-in hardware called the 'Gemulator ROM card' which holds actual ROM chips, ROM BIOS image files which contain 'ripped' BIOS ROMs in a disk file, and disk based operating systems such as Atari's TOS 1.0, the TOS replacement 'Magic', and various release of Mac OS.The hardware portion is an 8-bit ISA card that includes the Atari ST. The modern emulator to get Atari 2600 (aka Atari VCS) on OSX is named 'Stella', the inhouse codename for model 2600 when Atari was developing it. A websearch for 'Stella Mac' or 'Stella OSX' ought to do it. 2600 Space Invaders, Adventure, there's a few good titles, but most 2600 games don't get my attention. Atari model 800 is a different story. I bought this game new to steam so I did not know this game was not available for Mac and only for Windows. I would like for Steam to make Cat Goes Fishing available for Mac OS X. I feel as if the game would grow a lot if available for Mac considering lots of people are upgrading to Mac. Thank you for the feedback.

Destineer subsidiary MacSoft on Tuesday announced the release of Atari Arcade Classics — a three-in-one pack of previously released titles that have been remade for Mac OS X.

Included are modernized, 3D version of Breakout, Centipede and Pong — true coin-op arcade classics that have been re-imagined for 3D gaming enthusiasts. Both Breakout and Pong feature support for up to four players; Centipede can also play in two-player mode.

Available for US$19.99, the games in the Atari Arcade Classics collection have different system requirements: Centipede and Breakout need Mac OS X v10.1.5 or higher, 400MHz or faster processor, 256MB RAM, 16MB video card, and a CD-ROM drive. An internet or LAN connection is required for on-line play. Pong requires Mac OS X v10.2.8.

The Web site was still awaiting an update with information about this new three-in-one pack as MacCentral posted this article. The new pack was available for order through MacSoft’s online store, however.
